Neymar began his return to Santos by scoring two goals in a 2-2 draw with Chapecoense on Sunday, after the end of his participation with the Brazilian national team in the 2026 World Cup.
Neymar scored the opening goal for Santos in the 36th minute, but Chapecoense responded with two goals. The first was scored by Marcinho in the 51st minute, and the second came as an own goal by Joao Ananias in the 62nd minute. However, Neymar took center stage and snatched the decisive equalizer for his team a minute before the end of the match via a penalty kick.
Neymar attracted attention with the way he celebrated the first goal, which came after a remarkable exchange of the ball inside the penalty area with Alvaro Barrial, as he celebrated by distributing playing cards.
Neymar's celebration came in response to criticism he faced after participating in a poker tournament while Santos was playing a Copa Sudamericana match against UCV, which ended with Santos winning 4-1.
