Nottingham Forest have officially sacked head coach Vitor Pereira, despite the Portuguese coach still having one year remaining on his contract at the City Ground.
"We would like to express our sincere thanks to Vitor and his staff for their hard work and commitment during their time at the club. They represented Nottingham Forest with incredible dedication," Nottingham Forest said in a statement on their website on Friday.
The 57-year-old was appointed last February to replace Sean Dyche and become Forest's fourth permanent manager for the 2025/26 season.
Under his guidance, Forest managed to stay in the Premier League by finishing 16th and advanced to the Europa League semi-finals before being knocked out by eventual champions Aston Villa.
This achievement also ended Nottingham Forest's long wait to appear in the semi-finals of a European competition since 1984.
Additionally, the 5-0 win over Sunderland was the club's biggest away win in the Premier League's top flight since 1995.
Despite improving his performance, Forest decided to part ways with Pereira. This decision further underscores the club's high level of managerial turnover.
