PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) IV PalmCo is preparing young talent as part of the company's strategy to face the increasingly complex dynamics of the global palm oil industry, ranging from commodity price fluctuations, sustainability demands, to the need to improve operational efficiency.
PTPN IV PalmCo President Director Jatmiko K Santosa said that human resource development is an important factor in maintaining competitiveness while ensuring the sustainability of the company's performance amidst industrial changes.
"In terms of return on assets, we are second in the world. That's our position today. In terms of sustainability, we also rank second in the world. But then we think, what else can we do? It's not enough; it's far from enough ," he said in an official statement received.
He stated this while providing a briefing at the 2026 Next Gen Leaders Camp in Bogor.
According to him, this achievement should not make the company complacent. Instead, PalmCo needs to accelerate its cadre development to create a next generation capable of maintaining stability and driving growth.
He explained that the challenges facing the palm oil industry in the future are expected to increase, due to fluctuations in commodity prices, increasing global market demands for environmental management, and the need to improve operational efficiency.
Therefore, the company encourages the implementation of continuous improvement supported by innovation across all lines of the company, including through the development of human resource capacity.
