The Central Executive Board of the All-Indonesia Basketball Association (Perbasi) held special training for 3x3 basketball coaches at three locations in Batam City, Riau Islands, to improve the competence of coaches and coaching.
Chairperson of the 3x3 Board of the DPP Perbasi Santiyani, in Jakarta, Saturday, explained that the activity in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) and supported by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) was held at the Harmoni One Convention Hotel, Hi-Test Arena Batam, and Alun-Alun Engku Putri Batam, from July 21-26, 2026.
"This activity aims to improve the competence and capacity of 3x3 basketball coaches in Indonesia to align with international standards. We are grateful for the positive response, as it aligns with the Ministry of Youth and Sports' program," he said.
The woman, often called Naniek, explained that two FIBA instructors were brought in to provide the material. They are Gilles Martin, a former professional 3x3 basketball player and former coach of Team Laosuanne, and Karim Souchu, who coached the French 3x3 national team when they won silver at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
