BRI Super League club PSIM Yogyakarta welcomed goalkeeper Cahya Supriadi into the final squad for the Indonesian national team to compete in the 2026 ASEAN Championship Hyundai Cup.
Quoted from the club's official website, Saturday, PSIM Yogyakarta Manager Iksan Mahar said it was a source of pride for the management to see its players able to defend the Indonesian National Team.
"We are proud that Indonesian National Team Coach John Herdman has entrusted one of PSIM Jogja's key players, Cahya Supriadi, to join the 2026 ASEAN Championship squad. We hope Cahya will give his best in every session with the Garuda squad," said Iksan.
Iksan hopes that Cahya can give his best performance with the Indonesian National Team and achieve maximum results in the Southeast Asian football competition.
He added that Cahya's participation in this international event is expected to hone his individual qualities, both mentally and in his game.
Iksan believes this valuable experience will also provide new lessons for the PSIM Yogyakarta team when they return to compete in the Indonesian League competition.
"Playing in the ASEAN competition is nothing new for Cahya, as he previously competed in a similar event in 2024. So, we hope Cahya can deliver even better results for the national team, which has never won the most prestigious football event in Southeast Asia," said Iksan.
"For PSIM, Cahya's presence in the national team will hopefully improve his personal abilities, which will also have a positive impact on PSIM in the upcoming season," he said.
The Indonesian national team is scheduled to compete in the 2026 ASEAN Championship Hyundai Cup and is in Group A with Vietnam, Singapore, Cambodia, and Timor Leste.
