Qatar announced on Sunday the full resumption of navigation activities after suspending them for a week due to an incident resulting from military operations in the region.
The Qatari Ministry of Transport said in a statement that “it has been decided to fully resume maritime navigation activities for all types of marine vessels and ships as of the date of this circular.”
The ministry urged everyone to comply with the applicable regulations and instructions, and to ensure the availability of security and safety equipment to guarantee the highest levels of security and safety for all trips.
On June 29, the ministry announced the temporary suspension of all maritime traffic until further notice, with the exception of ships subject to the provisions of international maritime agreements, the day after the Ministry of Interior announced the death of a Qatari citizen and the injury of an Arab resident by shrapnel resulting from military operations in the region.
Qatar did not announce at the time that it had been subjected to direct attacks, but Iran targeted Bahrain and Kuwait at that time, according to official statements.
