French coach Herve Renard has announced the end of his mission with the Tunisian national team, thus bringing to a close his short tenure at the helm of the coaching staff, after leading the team during the 2026 World Cup finals.

Renard's announcement came on Saturday evening, after he failed to lead the Tunisian national team beyond the group stage, ending his journey with the "Eagles of Carthage" after participating in the World Cup.
Speculation had been rife that his departure was imminent, but it became official after he himself confirmed the end of his mission through a post on his Instagram account.
Arena rd said: "Before leaving, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Federation, which gave me the opportunity to participate in the 2026 World Cup. It was an honor for me to wear the colors of the Tunisian national team, and to live an unforgettable experience."
He added: "I wish the Tunisian national team success in the future, and I am convinced that it will continue to progress, in order to bring joy to the entire nation, and to write beautiful chapters in history."
He concluded his message by saying: "Thank you to everyone who supported me during this adventure. I wish you success in the future. My adventure has reached its end."
It is worth noting that the Tunisian national team suffered a heavy defeat against its Swedish counterpart (1-5) at the beginning of its journey in the World Cup, which led to the immediate dismissal of coach Sabri Lamouchi and the temporary appointment of Hervé Renard. However, it fell again against Japan with four goals to nil, before concluding its journey with a third defeat against the Netherlands (1-3).
