During its recent technology conference, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold8, which features a distinctive design compared to all its previous foldable phones.
What distinguishes this device most is its frame design, which makes it like a pre-folding phone that is easy to carry in a pocket when folded, and turns into a small tablet when the frame is opened. It comes with dimensions of (161.4/123.9/4.5) mm when fully opened, and its dimensions become (81.9/123.9/9.7) mm when folded.
The device has received water and dust protection according to the IP48 standard, and its large main screen is a 7.6-inch Foldable Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X, with a display resolution of (1828/2448) pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a brightness rate of up to 3000 nits.
Its external screen is a 5.5-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X, with a 3:4 aspect ratio, a resolution of (1248/1972) pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 layer to resist shocks and scratches.
The phone runs on the new "Android-17" system with One UI 9 interfaces, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, an Adreno 840 graphics processor, 12/16 GB of RAM, and internal memory ranging in capacity from 256 GB to 1 TB.
Its main camera is a dual-lens camera with a resolution of (50+50) megapixels, capable of recording 8K videos, and its front camera has a resolution of 10 megapixels.
Samsung also equipped it with a Nano-SIM port and eSIM technology for connecting to cellular networks, a USB Type-C 3.2 port, an NFC chip, a fingerprint scanner, and a 4800 mAh Li-Ion battery that works with a 45W fast charger and can be charged with a 20W wireless charger.
