The director of the European Affairs Department at the Russian Foreign Ministry, Vladislav Maslennikov, announced that the scope of NATO exercises near Russia's borders is growing, and offensive scenarios are being used increasingly.
Maslennikov said: "The growth in the scope of NATO exercises, especially near Russia's borders, and the increasing use of offensive scenarios in them is remarkable."
The "Breze" naval exercises, in which the Bulgarian Navy and NATO forces are participating, began last Tuesday.
Also, in Armenia in the middle of last month, the joint military exercises “Eagle Partner 2026” took place , with the participation of units from the Armenian, American, French and Greek armed forces.
In recent years, Russia has observed unprecedented NATO activity along its western borders. The alliance is expanding its military initiatives, describing this as a "deterrent to Russian aggression."
Moscow has repeatedly expressed its concern over NATO's troop buildup in Europe. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Moscow remains open to dialogue with NATO, but only on an equal footing, and that the West must abandon its policy of militarizing the continent.
