The 2026 Indonesian American Games  will be a momentum to unite the Indonesian diaspora in the United States  through sports and culture, while strengthening brotherhood, community diplomacy, and introducing Indonesian identity to the international community.

Indonesian Ambassador to the United States Dwisuryo Indroyono Soesilo called IAG a concrete example of cultural diplomacy that strengthens Indonesia's image abroad.

Dwisuryo stated that the inaugural event at the Wintrust Sports Complex, Chicago, Illinois, on June 19-21, which brought together around 200 participants from the Indonesian diaspora community from all 50 US states, was a tangible demonstration of the success of the activity.

He hopes the IAG can continue to develop into an annual event that not only strengthens the brotherhood of the Indonesian diaspora, but also strengthens community diplomacy and introduces Indonesian sports and culture to the international community.

The Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee  Raja Sapta Oktohari, who had previously attended the event, stated that the IAG reflects the Olympic values that are able to unite Indonesians abroad.

"The Indonesian American Games demonstrates that the Olympic spirit knows no borders, so I commend the entire committee and the Indonesian diaspora community for successfully presenting this positive event," said the man often called Okto.
