The Indonesian U18 volleyball team coach is not satisfied despite beating Bahrain 3-0

Indonesian U18 men's national volleyball team coach Odyk Hemanto admitted he was not satisfied with his team's performance despite defeating Bahrain 3-0  at the 2026 AVC Boys' U18 Volleyball Championship.

"Even though we won 3-0, I'm still not satisfied with the boys' performance. They should have played much more aggressively, but they still played to their opponents' rhythm," said Odyk Hermanto in an official statement from the Indonesian Volleyball Association (PP PBVSI) in Jakarta on Friday.

The Indonesian team completed the 9-12th place match with a landslide victory over Bahrain at the Haikou Wuyuan River Gymnasium, China.

This result takes the Red and White squad to the match to determine the 9th-10th positions scheduled for Saturday (18/7), against the winner of the match between Hong Kong and the Philippines.

Despite achieving a maximum result against Bahrain, Hermanto believes his players' performance hasn't reached its peak yet. He believes the players could have put more pressure on Bahrain.
