The US Department of Defense announced that the number of wounded among US military personnel during operations against Iran has risen to 427, as the exchange of strikes continues for the tenth day in a row.
According to the Pentagon's Defense Casualty Analysis System, as of July 17, the casualties were distributed as follows: "Army: 287 wounded. Navy: 68 wounded. Air Force: 53 wounded. Marines: 19 wounded."
The United States and Iran had signed a memorandum of understanding on the night of June 18, which stipulated an end to the conflict that began on February 28. However, Washington resumed its strikes on Iran on the night of July 8, claiming that this was in response to Iranian actions against commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
In response, the Iranian Foreign Ministry described the US attacks as a serious violation of previously reached understandings. These developments come as the US Central Command continues its strikes against Iranian targets for the seventh consecutive night, as part of its ongoing efforts to undermine Iran's military capabilities, under the direction of the Supreme Leader of the Armed Forces.
