Trump's granddaughter announces her stance on her grandfather, the presidency, and politics

Kay Trump, granddaughter of US President Donald Trump, has stated that politics is not one of her interests, and she is instead focusing on her college golf career and her influence on social media.

Despite gaining an online following by taking people on a behind-the-scenes tour as a member of the presidential family, Trump's granddaughter recently admitted that politics is "not her thing."

Kay Trump, 19, made the statement to Sportico, a digital news and media website, while attending the ESPY Awards ceremony.

The influencer said: "Honestly, I completely avoid politics. It's not one of my interests. I just like to share my life and show how one can be an athlete and do and enjoy many other activities."

She added: "So, I like to show people that anything is possible, and I like to tell the new generation about my journey during my university studies, and how I got to where I am today."

Kay Trump is set to play NCAA Division I golf at the University of Miami (her mother, Vanessa Trump, is Tiger Woods' partner, and her father is Donald Trump Jr.).

In February 2025, Trump became the highest-valued female high school golfer after signing a lucrative sponsorship deal with TaylorMade, a leading golf equipment company.

The interviewer then asked her about her opinion on the UFC 250 event held at the White House on Sunday, June 14, and she said: "I think the UFC event was great, and it was really fun to be there, especially with the veterans in the arena. That gives you a chance to see the (American) 250 perspective. It was really great."

The athlete has made similar statements in the past. During her interview on the "Impulsive" podcast with Logan Paul, which aired on January 6, Trump said: "I will never run for office. I don't want anything to do with politics. I feel that politics is a very dangerous thing, and I think if both sides met halfway, everyone would be happier."

However, she confirmed her support for her grandfather.

She said, "He's a wonderful grandfather in every sense of the word." Kay took to the stage at the 2024 Republican National Convention to speak about her grandfather, and told Paul that the idea for the speech was hers.

However, golf remains her main focus, and she added that she wants to "turn professional, win some tournaments, and eventually become the world's number one." The influencer has nearly 1.5 million subscribers on her YouTube channel and 3.1 million followers on Instagram.
