Two Palestinians were killed on Thursday by Israeli occupation forces in the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus, in the northern occupied West Bank.

The official Palestinian news agency WAFA quoted security sources as saying that the occupation army shot the two Palestinian youths in the town, killing them, and then seized their bodies.

The agency added that two other Palestinians were injured and taken to the hospital.

According to Wafa, the mayor of Beit Furik, Youssef Hanani, said that the occupation forces are continuing their aggression against the town, after closing all its entrances, amid a widespread deployment of soldiers and settlers in the plain area.

He added that the Israeli occupation army and settlers attacked the town’s residents while they were trying to extinguish fires that had broken out in their fields, and fired live ammunition at them, which led to the injury of a number of them, before later announcing the martyrdom of the Palestinians Mahmoud Hussein Nasrallah Hanani and Muhammad Samer Malitat and the detention of their bodies.

Hanani pointed out that the occupation army forced one of the families to evacuate their home after assaulting its owner, while the fires spread to the electricity grid poles, and settlers burned two vehicles belonging to Palestinians from the town.

He pointed out that dozens of residents were unable to reach their homes or leave the town, following the closure of the Beit Furik military checkpoint by the Israeli occupation army.

Earlier on Thursday, a Palestinian was killed by Israeli occupation forces in the northern West Bank, allegedly for carrying out a “stabbing attack” targeting one of their soldiers near the “Ganim” settlement, while no Palestinian account of the circumstances of the incident was immediately available.

Since the start of the Israeli genocide in Gaza on October 8, 2023, the Israeli occupation army and settlers have intensified their attacks on Palestinians and their property in the West Bank.
