The World Boxing Council is mourning the loss of women's featherweight boxer Hannah Rapp who died in an accident in Brazos County, Texas, United States.
"The loss of Hannah Rapp is heartbreaking for us. She was an incredible boxer, but most importantly, an invaluable member of our boxing family," WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman said on the WBC's official website, monitored.
Hannah died in a bicycle accident in Brazos County. The accident involved a vehicle driven by Charles Medina.
Hannah passed away just over a month after her fight against Tiara Brown for the WBC women's featherweight world title on June 13 in Florida, United States. Hannah lost the fight via unanimous decision.
The 26-year-old American is known for his passion both inside and outside the ring, a young fighter pursuing a world title shot while also working full-time.
Sulaiman said that Hannah was not only an exemplary queen and fighter in the ring, but also a “lighthouse” whose dedication and charisma left an indelible mark on the North American Boxing Federation (NABF) and the WBC family.
"His passion for the sport and his determination will always be remembered as an example of excellence and nobility," he said.
