Reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano spoke about Mohamed Salah's future and the idea of the Egyptian international signing with Besiktas in the coming period, commenting on the Turkish club's statement denying the signing of the player.

Mohamed Salah was linked in recent hours with signing a one-year contract with Besiktas , with the possibility of renewing for an additional season, before the Turkish team denied those reports in an official statement.

But Romano, in statements reported by the website "teamtalk", confirmed that Besiktas wants to sign Mohamed Salah, but issued this statement because the deal has not been officially finalized.

Beşiktaş has issued an official statement denying all reports circulating about transfer negotiations published by journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, confirming that what is being circulated about the terms of deals or the progress of negotiations is baseless, and describing it as… pic.twitter.com/Gp4TrO0CkH

Romano said: "Why did Besiktas deny the rumors with an official statement? Because the Salah deal has not yet been completed. Before finalizing any agreement, clubs must be cautious, and this is perfectly understandable. Besiktas is indeed seeking to sign Salah and has already made an offer."

He added: "However, we have to wait for a formal agreement before confirming; we are waiting for the next steps."

Romano added: " Salah has received offers from clubs in the American league and Saudi clubs, so Besiktas is remaining silent until a final agreement is reached."

Mohamed Salah played his last season with Liverpool in 2025-2026 and did not win a title in his final year at Anfield, but he nevertheless has a legendary career with the English team, having won several titles, most notably the 2019 Champions League, the Club World Cup, and the English Premier League in 2020 and 2025.
