According to reports, Barcelona are preparing to renew the contract of 18-year-old Abdelkarim, significantly increasing the value of the release clause in his contract, amid growing interest in the player.
The Catalan club wants to increase the value of the release clause from 15 million euros to 150 million euros in a move aimed at protecting the Egyptian striker and blocking the path for clubs wishing to acquire his services.
Barcelona have also entered into negotiations with the player's representatives regarding his future, exploring the possibility of registering him in the first team squad if the confidence he enjoys within the coaching staff continues.
Hamza Abdelkarim succeeded in taking advantage of the opportunities he received during the preparation period, scoring 4 goals in just 3 matches, making him one of the most prominent beneficiaries of the preparatory matches under the leadership of Hansi Flick.
Abdelkarim's brilliance came at a time when Barcelona were looking to strengthen their center forward position, following the departure of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, while studying a number of available options in the transfer market.
The Egyptian striker joined last January on loan from Al-Ahly of Egypt before activating the clause to buy his contract last June after his participation in the World Cup with the Pharaohs national team.
