Dubai boosts its real estate appeal with the entry of 186 new developers

Dubai’s real estate sector continued its growth during 2026, with 186 new real estate development companies entering the market from the beginning of the year until mid-August, according to data from the Dubai Land Department.

The data indicates that the market attracted an average of about 25 new real estate developers per month, an indication of the continued expansion of the sector and the increasing confidence of investors in the ability of Dubai's real estate market to accommodate more projects.

180 of the new companies obtained licenses from the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, representing the vast majority of all new licenses issued during the period. Trakhees, the licensing authority of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation in Dubai, which is responsible for development activities in the city of Dubai, also issued three additional licenses to companies operating in the real estate sector.

For its part, the Mohammed bin Rashid Fund for SME Development granted two new licenses, while Expo City Dubai issued one license to a company operating in the sector. These figures reflect a continued expansion in the real estate developer base in the emirate, with new companies entering the market alongside traditional and prominent developers. The increase in the number of developers is expected to enhance competition and expand the options available to buyers and investors, through the introduction of more real estate projects and products of all kinds.

The continued influx of new companies confirms Dubai’s enduring appeal as one of the most active real estate markets in the region, given its ability to attract local and international capital and developers. These developments reinforce Dubai’s position as a major destination for real estate investment and development, driven by continued demand and investor confidence in the market’s growth prospects over the coming years.
