Euractiv: Washington is considering allowing the launching of US munitions from European platforms to resolve the NATO compatibility crisis

The website "Euractiv" revealed the challenges facing NATO in the disparity of defense and missile systems among its member states, where one camp relies on the American "HIMARS" system, and another on the Israeli "Euro-Pulse" system.

Euractiv: Washington is considering allowing the launching of US munitions from European platforms to resolve the NATO compatibility crisis.
The report indicated that easing current restrictions would facilitate the exchange of ammunition between NATO countries during conflicts, given the differences in the systems used. Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, and Italy chose the American "HIMARS" system, while Denmark, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, and Greece preferred the Israeli "Europols" system.

A NATO source explained that this split poses operational challenges, as ammunition cannot be interchanged between the two systems, requiring additional training, and described it as a "less than ideal scenario".

In a related context, Russia continues to express concern about NATO's military expansion near its western borders, describing its activities as a "deterrent to alleged Russian aggression," asserting that it does not pose a threat, but warning that it will not leave any moves that affect its national security unanswered.
