Dr. Irina Volgina, Associate Professor in the Department of Therapy at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Education, stated that the tingling sensation in the hand may be caused by problems in the spine.

According to her, pain extending to the arm may be a sign of angina, in which case the sensation is usually concentrated behind the sternum and takes the form of pressure.

She says: "Diabetic patients often suffer from similar symptoms due to neuropathy. Moreover, there are many other conditions that may manifest as arm pain, including various neurological diseases and chronic poisoning. In such cases, the cause is peripheral nerve damage."

Dr. Yelena Smirnova notes that many people experience a sudden and strange sensation of tickling, mild burning, or tingling in their hands or fingers. They try to move their hand, but the discomfort returns. While the cause may be an uncomfortable sleeping position or simply fatigue, frequent occurrences of these symptoms could indicate underlying neurological or vascular problems.

According to her, these symptoms may appear intermittently, such as when sitting in an uncomfortable position for a long time with the elbow bent. In this case, one of the main nerves experiences a temporary decrease in blood flow, but the discomfort quickly disappears once the correct posture is restored. However, if the pain or tingling recurs regularly, it may indicate the development of a chronic condition.
