Lebanon hosts WASL Final 8

 







  Lebanon has been named as the host of the 2026 FIBA ​​West Asia Super League  Final 8 from September 25 to October 1, after being postponed due to the war in the region.

The FIBA ​​website stated on Friday that the eight teams that have secured their places in the final phase come from two regions. In the West Asia League, these are Al Riyadi and Sagesse BC from Lebanon, BC Astana from Kazakhstan, and Shahrdari Gorgan.

Then the FIBA ​​WASL Gulf League sent Kuwait SC from Kuwait, Al Ula and Ittihad Club from Saudi Arabia, and Al Arabi SC.

FIBA has not yet announced the group divisions, match system, and schedule for the Final 8. Information regarding the competition format will be announced in the next few days.

The top two teams of the 2026 FIBA ​​WASL Final 8 will qualify for the 2026 Basketball Champions League  Asia.

They will be joined by South China AA from Hong Kong and Taoyuan Pauian Pilots from Taiwan, as well as representatives from China, Japan, South Korea and the Philippines.

The BCL Asia 2026 is scheduled to take place in the first two weeks of October 2026 after the WASL Final 8.
