Libya and Chad discussed strengthening border security, promoting bilateral cooperation, and activating joint African action to confront the escalating challenges in the Sahel and Sahara region.
This came during an expanded meeting between the Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Taher Al-Baour, and the Chadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and International Cooperation, Abdullah Saber Fadl, who arrived in Tripoli on a two-day official visit.
The two sides discussed the prospects for historical relations between the two neighboring countries, and ways to expand cooperation in a manner that serves the interests of both peoples, in addition to the files of sustainable development, strengthening border security, and activating joint African action organizations to confront the current challenges in the Sahel and Sahara region.
The visit of the Chadian minister, who heads the executive council of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States, comes within the framework of strengthening coordination between the two countries on security and development issues and African files of common interest.
