The new World Boxing Association welterweight world champion, Tefimo Lopez, is aiming for the title of true champion after dominating the WBA welterweight division by defeating Rolando Romero.
"I still have three more fights with DAZN, and all of them are for the undisputed title," Lopez said in a report from The Ring, which was monitored.
Lopez toppled Romero to win the WBA welterweight world championship belt in an all-American duel at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas
The former lightweight and super lightweight world champion found a resurgence in momentum after losing a unanimous decision to Shakur Stevenson in January 2026.
For Tefimo, a win over Romero is the path to a true title reign in the four-belt era.
"The Takeover" wants all the challenges in a talented heavyweight division, which features World Boxing Council champion Ryan Garcia, World Boxing Organization belt holder Devin Haney, and International Boxing Federation champion Liam Paro.
