Nutrition expert Dr. Anton Polyakov asserts that the healthiest oils are those rich in omega-3 or omega-9 fatty acids. According to him, flaxseed, olive, and walnut oils are beneficial choices.

He says: "The best healthy oils are those that contain omega-3 or omega-9. Olive oil, which is rich in omega-9, and flaxseed oil, which is rich in omega-3, are among the best choices. Walnut oil is also beneficial as it contains a good amount of omega-3. Other oils can also be consumed; for example, sunflower oil has a high percentage of oleic acid and is therefore rich in omega-9 rather than omega-6. The fact is that our diet contains large amounts of omega-6, which may be linked to negative health consequences, such as chronic inflammation, increased blood clotting, and a higher risk of cancer."

The expert emphasizes that maintaining a proper balance between omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids in the diet helps to avoid these negative effects.

He says: "Coconut oil and MCT (medium-chain triglyceride) oil are also good options. They are a good source of energy, have a distinctive and delicious flavor, and can be added to salads or used in baking."
