The government is targeting national 5G coverage by 2029, optimizing the use of AI

 

  The Ministry of Communication and Digital  is targeting national 5G coverage to be realized by 2029, so that in the future, the optimization of the use of the latest technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) can be created for the Indonesian people.

"We must accelerate the 5G roadmap. We hope that by 2029, 5G coverage in Indonesia will continue to expand to the remotest corners of the country. This is important because the world is moving towards an AI-based economy, so digital infrastructure must be able to keep up with these needs," said Secretary General of Kemkomdigi Ismail in his statement received and confirmed.

Ismail said that it is undeniable that the development of AI as the latest technology has influenced the direction of digital infrastructure development in Indonesia.

One of them is changing the view that digital infrastructure no longer functions only as a means of communication, but also becomes the foundation of productivity, innovation, and national competitiveness, especially in the AI ​​era.
