After signing Barkola, Liverpool officially complete a new attacking signing

Liverpool Football Club announced on Friday the official signing of young French striker Djilissen from French club Saint-Étienne.

Liverpool explained in a statement on its official website that N'Guessan (18 years old) will officially join the team during the winter transfer window next January, and will spend the rest of the 2026/2027 season on loan to Stade Brestois in the French league to continue his development and gain experience.

N’Guessan had progressed through the youth ranks of Saint-Étienne until he reached the first team, where he played 13 matches and scored one goal, after making his debut with the team in January 2025.

On the international level, the promising striker has a distinguished record with the French national youth teams, as he participated with the youth team in the Under-20 World Cup held in Chile last year and contributed to reaching fourth place. He was also chosen in the ideal lineup for the European Under-17 Championship last summer after shining by scoring 4 goals.

This move reinforces Liverpool's strong activity in the transfer market, just days after completing the huge deal to sign French star Bradley Barkola from Paris Saint-Germain for £123 million.
