The Palestinian Jerusalem Governorate said in a statement that Ben-Gvir stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque under heavy security from the Israeli police, noting that he performed Talmudic rituals in the eastern area of Al-Aqsa.the governorate confirmed that 796 settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa courtyards on Sunday morning, in addition to 80 others under the name of “tourism” coinciding with the Jewish “Yom Kippur”.

She stated that hundreds of settlers had gathered since this morning near the Mughrabi Gate in preparation for storming the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
On Saturday evening, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, along with several members of his government and thousands of settlers, stormed the Western Wall plaza in the Old City of occupied East Jerusalem, under heavy security.
The Jerusalem Governorate said that Netanyahu and a number of Israeli ministers stormed the Western Wall plaza, while “Israeli forces turned the Old City into a military barracks, with the aim of protecting settlers as they passed to the occupied Western Wall.”
She explained that “thousands of settlers stormed the Western Wall plaza, passing through Al-Wad Street in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem.”
In recent days, the Jerusalem Governorate has warned of escalating movements by Jewish groups around the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the Jewish holiday season, particularly before Yom Kippur, and of attempts to impose new religious rituals in the area.
Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement, is one of the most important religious occasions for Jews, and is characterized by fasting, prayers, and abstaining from many daily activities.
With the start of the Jewish holiday season, settler incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque have recently increased under the protection of the Israeli police, coinciding with tightened security measures in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem and the vicinity of the mosque, and a heavy deployment of Israeli forces, amid Palestinian and Jordanian warnings against attempts to impose new realities in the mosque and divide it temporally and spatially.
The Jewish holidays began with the Hebrew New Year on September 12 and 13, and continue with Yom Kippur, then Sukkot between September 26 and October 2, culminating in the completion of the Torah on October 3.
Since 2003, the Israeli police have allowed settlers to unilaterally storm the Al-Aqsa Mosque, while the Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem has repeatedly demanded that these incursions be stopped, without any response from the Israeli authorities.
