In the latest developments, medical sources said that a Palestinian was killed and seven others, including a child, were injured in an Israeli bombing that targeted vacationers on the beach south of Gaza City.
In a separate incident, three Palestinians, including a child and a girl, were injured in an Israeli airstrike that targeted passersby in the vicinity of the Katiba area, west of Gaza City, according to medical sources.
Sources indicated that two Palestinians, including a child, were injured by Israeli shelling and gunfire in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.
Two Palestinians were killed in a double Israeli airstrike on the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in Gaza City.
A medical source said that Palestinian Saleh Ramadan al-Dabour, 65, from Jabalia camp, was killed by Israeli gunfire towards a camp for displaced people east of the town.
Eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli occupation army launched artillery shelling on the northeastern areas of Gaza City and east of Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip, and also targeted the northeastern outskirts of Al-Bureij camp with heavy fire.
Israeli vehicles stationed behind what is known as the “yellow line” also fired heavily towards areas east of Deir al-Balah city and al-Maghazi camp in the central Gaza Strip, and east of Khan Yunis city in the southern Gaza Strip.
According to local sources, Israeli warships opened fire towards the coasts of Gaza City and Khan Yunis.
For its part, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) expressed deep concern over reports of civilian casualties and injuries resulting from military strikes targeting populated areas throughout the Gaza Strip.
OCHA quoted safety and security partners as reporting that military operations continued throughout Gaza, particularly west of the so-called “yellow line,” and that these operations included airstrikes and artillery shelling. The office reiterated the need to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure.
The United Nations Information Centre said that nine children died from their wounds last week, including two sisters aged 6 and 12, four other children aged between 3 and 14, as well as a pregnant mother and her unborn child, as a result of gunfire, in addition to at least 13 children being injured.
