Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, Jombang, continues the solidarity with Palestine that is said to have been pioneered by the founder of Nahdlatul Ulama KH Hasyim Asy'ari during the struggle through the Muhadhoroh Ammah activity which brings together Palestinian figures, clerics, and the community.

The General Chairman of PBNU and also the Caretaker of the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, KH Abdul Hakim Mahfudz or Gus Kikin, in his statement in Jombang, Monday, said that the presence of Palestinian figures was a momentum to strengthen brotherhood as well as open up space for dialogue regarding the condition of Palestine and humanitarian issues.
"Solidarity for Palestine is nothing new for Tebuireng and Nahdlatul Ulama. Hadratussyaikh KH Hasyim Asy'ari has exemplified it since the early days of the struggle. He pioneered the consistent recitation of Qunut Nazilah to pray for the safety of the Palestinian people, a spiritual tradition and solidarity that we continue to uphold to this day," he said.
The series of activities began with a meeting of figures with the Caretaker of the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School in Ndalem Kasepuhan, followed by a pilgrimage to the tomb of KH Hasyim Asy'ari as well as a discussion and dialogue with Palestinian figures and scholars.
Gus Kikin said the event provided a platform to discuss the situation in Palestine, the role of Muslims, and the importance of maintaining international brotherhood.
According to him, Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School is committed to strengthening ties and cooperation across countries, especially with Palestine, as part of efforts to continue the values of KH Hasyim Asy'ari's struggle.
He said that the founder of NU not only devoted himself to religious preaching and the struggle for Indonesian independence, but also paid attention to international issues.
On that occasion, Gus Kikin also encouraged strengthening relations between Indonesia and Palestine through cooperation in the fields of education and culture.
The forum also encourages cross-border cooperation in the fields of education and culture between Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia and Palestine.
