"The measure of success is better services, better decisions, fairer access, and greater dignity in how citizens interact with the state," he said at the AI Incubation for Public Sector Demo Day 2026 event.
Nezar stated that implementing AI-based solutions could help simplify and streamline public service delivery in Indonesia, which has many islands and regions with varying needs.
In order to help optimize the provision of public services, he said, developers need to provide solutions that are appropriate to regional conditions and the needs and literacy of its citizens.
"A solution that works in one environment may not work in another without careful adaptation," Nezar said.
"Adoption alone isn't enough; adaptation is paramount. AI must be compatible with local languages, local norms, local data, and local demand patterns," he added.
Nezar also emphasized the importance of data protection and security in utilizing digital technology solutions to support trusted public administration.
"The promise of AI is significant, but promise alone does not constitute public value. Public value emerges when technology meets real human needs, is supported by competent institutions, regulated by clear safeguards, and shaped through collaboration," said Nezar Patria.
