Herlin Aprilin Lali became the first Indonesian representative to immediately secure a ticket to the final after finishing second in Heat 1 of the women's 200 meter canoe single (C1) with a time of 47.530 seconds.
Herlin was just 0.588 seconds behind Uzbekistan's Shohsanam Sherzodova, who won her heat with a time of 46.942 seconds. Thailand's Orasa Thiangkathok finished third with a time of 48.795 seconds.
Based on the competition system, the top three athletes from each heat are entitled to advance directly to Final A, while the next ranking must go through to the semifinals.
The next Final A ticket was secured by the pair Dayumin/Sella Monim in the women's 500 meter canoe double (C2) number.
Dayumin/Sella finished third in Heat 2 with a time of 2 minutes 02.872 seconds, behind the Chinese pair Sun Mengya/Ma Yanan who recorded 1:55.959 and the Kazakh pair Mariya Brovkova/Ulyana Kisseleva with 1:58.282.
Meanwhile, three other Indonesian representatives had to continue their struggle through the semifinals after placing fourth in their respective heats.
