Real Betis defeated their guest Getafe 1-0 in the sixth round of the Spanish Football League.
Moroccan international Abdel Samad Zalzouli scored the only goal of the match for Real Betis in the last minute of regular time in the first half.
Getafe's troubles increased in the 87th minute when their player Mario Martin was sent off, forcing the team from the Spanish capital, Madrid, to finish the match with ten players.
Real Betis raised its tally to 15 points in third place, only behind Real Madrid in second place on goal difference, and three points behind Barcelona, the defending champion and leader of the competition.
On the other hand, Getafe's tally remains frozen at five points in 15th place, behind Levante in 14th place on goal difference.
