Khan: Turkey brings pride to Pakistan and its anniversary is a reminder of the brave struggle against colonialism

In a letter to the Turkish President, the Pakistani Prime Minister stressed that the anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic recalls the brave and successful struggle of the Turkish nation against colonialism and imperialism, and Pakistani leaders congratulated Turkey on this occasion, including President Arif Alvi.

Pakistani leaders, led by President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan, congratulated the 98th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey.

In his message to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister Khan stressed that Republic Day is a reminder of the brave and successful struggle of the Turkish nation led by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk against colonialism and imperialism.

Khan pointed out that the progress and prosperity of the Turkish nation during the 98 years is a source of pride for the people of Pakistan.

"The peoples of the two countries have always stood side by side and will continue to stand together in the future," he said.

Khan expressed his happiness with the centuries-old Pakistani-Turkish brotherly relations based on common culture, religion, spiritual and linguistic heritage.

He pointed out that the two countries share a common vision and always support peace and stability in their region and beyond.

In turn, Alvi said in his message to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan that Pakistan, the people and the state, will continue to stand by the Turkish people in peace, development and security.

For his part, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, in a letter sent to his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu, stressed that Turkey's glorious struggle led by Ataturk against imperialist powers was a source of inspiration for Muslims in South Asia.

Qureshi stressed that the two countries always stand in solidarity with each other at all times and on all issues.

Turkey celebrates "Republic Day" on October 29 of each year, which is the anniversary of the declaration of the republic by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, in 1923.
