Violence in Khargone city of Madhya Pradesh

There was a disturbance during the Ram Navami procession in Khargone city of Madhya Pradesh. MP Congress leader KK Mishra says that when the procession reached Talab Chowk, songs were being played on the DJ, provocative words were sent to a particular community through the song and after that the tension increased. The police also fired tear gas shells to bring the situation under control. After which curfew was imposed in many areas. Many policemen including the SP have also been injured in this violence.

Ruckus at two places in West Bengal

There was a lot of ruckus during the Ram Navami procession in Bankura, West Bengal. The local police asked the people taking part in the procession to follow the law and advised not to march in front of the mosque. But people refused and made their way by removing police barricades. According to the police report, some people pelted stones. In Howrah too, during the procession, there was a clash between two groups.

Earlier, there was stone pelting on New Year's procession in Karauli, Rajasthan, there was arson. The police has given a report on the violence after seven days of investigation. DGP ML Lather said that permission was given to take out the rally without DJ and sloganeering. Despite this, the people involved in the rally in the minority-dominated area raised provocative slogans. After which the stone pelting started.

Whatever the provocation, it is not proper to indulge in violence, those who do so must be punished. But provocative slogans, inflammatory songs? After all, what is the use of these things in the devotion of Shri Ram? What is its purpose?

So where is this new wind blowing from? Not only provocative slogans in Ramnavmi procession, why is there a call for meat ban in Navratras? Under which law?

If it is a matter of religious sentiments, then keeping in mind the sentiments of the people of Jainism, there should be a permanent meat ban in this country? After all, the religious sentiments of the minority community are as important as those of the majority population. If there is a BJP government in Goa and North East states, will there be a ban on meat too? Animals are sacrificed on festivals from Bengal to Odisha, will it stop? Will restaurants be closed during the day during Ramadan?

The real question is, why don't the big leaders who tweet, make statements on everything come forward to stop the conspiracy to convert the joy of the festival into mourning? Sahir Ludhianvi had asked those who are silent on these hatreds-

Government officials involved in 'intimidation' of media organizations in India: US report

The report said that NGOs in India have alleged that criminal prosecution and investigation were used to intimidate journalists critical of the government. 

Washington:Government officials at both the local and national levels in India have been involved in "intimidation" of important media institutions. This has been said in a US report released on Tuesday regarding human rights. In the 'Country Report on Human Rights Practices 2021' issued by the US State Department and approved by Congress, the section related to India said, "Independent media is active and generally expresses a variety of views.

"There have been reports from journalists and NGOs that government officials at the local and national levels have been involved in intimidating major media organizations in various ways," the report said. These include pressure on owners, targeting sponsors, filing fabricated lawsuits and in some cases shutting down communication services such as mobile telephones and the Internet.

The report said that NGOs in India have alleged that criminal prosecution and investigation were used to intimidate journalists critical of the government.
