Three people were injured in a shooting outside the Whitmer High School stadium in Toledo, Ohio, coinciding with an American football match between Whitmer and Central Catholic schools on Friday.

American journalists and local news websites circulated videos and photos of the incident, which caused great panic among the players and fans who fled the field, after hearing the sound of gunshots.

American sports journalist Jordan Strack published a video clip of the atmosphere of terror that pervaded the stadium, commenting on it, "This was the scene in the Central Catholic and Whitmer match, when shots were fired outside the stadium. It is a really scary scene."

American media reported that the audience heard more than 12 gunshots during the match, and people were seen fleeing from the stands. This caused the match to stop, and Whitmer's coach said that both sides of the match refused to continue the confrontation under those circumstances.

The media indicated that the injured were taken to the hospital, and quoted the Toledo police as saying that two people in custody were probably linked to the shooting.
