Western concern about Ben Gvir and Shtayyeh calls on FIFA to condemn the killing of a Palestinian player

Ramallah – Nazareth After the Israeli Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu announced, on Wednesday night, minutes before the end of the deadline granted to him to form a government coalition, that he had succeeded in forming a government with his partners from the religious and extreme right-wing parties, which is the most right-wing in the history of Israel, three Western diplomats expressed their concern about the arrival of Itamar Ben Gvir to the leadership of the police, which includes the Border Guard, by taking over the Ministry of Security.

And after he won, with his allies, the legislative elections that took place on November 1, Netanyahu had a deadline that expires on Wednesday night, to inform President Isaac Herzog that he had “succeeded” in forming the next government.

Minutes before the deadline expired, Netanyahu tweeted in Hebrew, "I got it."

There are fears that Ben Gvir will take over the Ministry of Internal Security, as three senior Western diplomats told "Agence France Presse" yesterday, Thursday, that they are concerned about the arrival of Itamar Ben Gvir to the leadership of the police, which includes the Border Guard, the paramilitary units deployed in the West Bank.

This coincided with an American decision refusing to grant visas to Israelis suspected of committing crimes against the Palestinians, and it is hoped that this decision will include the two fascist ministers in Benjamin Netanyahu's government, Itamar Ben Gvir and Besalel Smotrich.

In parallel, the Palestinian Prime Minister, Muhammad Shtayyeh, complained to the head of the FIFA Football Association, the occupying state, for executing the Palestinian soccer player, Ahmed Daraghmeh, and demanded that it condemn this “criminal act.”

Yesterday, large crowds attended the funeral of the football player Daraghmeh, who plays for the Tulkarem Cultural Club.

With Daraghmeh's rise, the number of martyrs since the beginning of this year has risen to 224, including 53 from the Gaza Strip. In a related context, 249 Israeli settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque under police guard, in conjunction with imposing restrictions on the entry of Muslim worshipers to the mosque in occupied East Jerusalem.
