US President Joe Biden said US-supported humanitarian partners are responding to the devastation in Syria.

He added in a press statement, "My administration is working closely with our NATO ally Turkey, and has authorized an immediate response from the United States..At my direction, senior American officials immediately reached out to their Turkish counterparts to coordinate any assistance needed..Our teams are quickly deployed to begin supporting Turkish search and rescue efforts and meeting the needs of the injured and displaced as a result of the earthquake.
"Humanitarian partners supported by the United States are also responding to the devastation in Syria," he explained. "Today, our deepest condolences go out to everyone who lost their loved ones, who were injured, and who saw their homes and businesses destroyed."
A devastating earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 struck at dawn today the regions of southern Turkey, northern and central Syria, as well as the regions of northern and eastern Lebanon, and its aftershocks spread to the eastern Mediterranean region, leaving hundreds of victims and great destruction so far.
