The scientific community was amazed at the evolution of the daring of the experimenters and said that the discovery would allow the creation of unprecedentedly powerful computers that predict in advance what they will calculate.

Einstein convinced us of the existence of a reality that we all agreed upon, and we began repeating like parrots: We all live in a four-dimensional space where the length, width, height and ... time .. We can move in length and width, while traveling in height is more difficult, but that does not affect the time. Length, width and height seem to be "frozen" in the flow of time, and time, as it carries us. Even Plato said that there is no time, that time is an illusion, that the gods look at things as a whole, and see a beginning and an end to everything in the world. But man is a slave to time, and he cannot ignore it and get out of it.

At the same time, here and now time is blatantly ignored. For example, there are the photons that make up the light that hits your eyes. It's going right, at the speed of light, and if that's the case, time has stopped for it. After all, time flows slower the faster you go, and at the speed of light it stops completely. From the point of view of the photon it is eternal, from your point of view the photon was born one microsecond ago in a light bulb and actually disappeared, and was absorbed into your eyes.

Thomas Jung in 1803 conducted what is rightfully called the most powerful experiment in the history of physics. Spacecraft, smartphones, and nuclear reactors are all embedded in this experiment. But Jung himself, of course, had not planned anything like that. He took two slender holes and made the sunlight pass through them. On the screen, Jung saw, instead of pictures with two holes, an intricate pattern of dark and light lines. He realized that light is a wave. The lines are the peaks and troughs of the wave.

However, physicists in the 20th century managed to pass not only a stream of light through the two slits, but a single photon. It seems that the photon will pass either through one slits or through another, which is the same. It didn't happen! The photon saw that there were two gaps in front of it, so it immediately turned into a wave and began to interact with itself, that is, it "understood" what the experimenters were preparing for it. And it makes perfect sense: like Plato's god, who looks at the world outside of time, the photon of course, "knows" in advance that there will be an experience. And that he will be offered two loopholes. And he had to get over both of them. But this means that the photon ... think? This is how modern quantum mechanics was born as a strange science, without which we would not have had either the Internet or smartphones. We do not understand the essence of quantum mechanics, but we use its fruits with strength and determination.

But what if you took a futon and beat it? And introduce a new factor, time, into Jung's experiment that forces the "eternal" photon to play by the rules of our world? This is exactly what physicists at Imperial College London have done.

So there are two gaps, and the photon is preparing to pass through them. But as soon as he flies, the first gap disappears, then the second. Needless to say, how hard it is to do that, there are not even milliseconds, no words to describe such time periods. But they were able to make it happen.

The photon set out to first see two holes, make a plan of action for itself, and then find itself alone. And the photon does not fade here either, and it changes the plan during the play. But another problem arises and there isn't even a single gap! So what happened?

It all worked out exactly as quantum mechanics says. And the photon tried to pass through the two slits, as if they had not been removed. He saw the two gaps and prepared, but he did not have time to reorganize, that is, he squeezed through the two gaps, and they no longer existed. And it's like when there was a hole in the fence and everyone climbed into it, and they walked down the aisle. Then the hole was patched, but people still walked all the way to the hole that didn't exist.

The only surprise: it turned out that the photon was slow in intelligence. He reacted to innovations more slowly than theory predicted.

 Thus, we brought the monster (photon) out of the cave of eternity where there is no time, and made him understand that time is here, and that it exists. And this is the complete equivalent of the situation, as if we, living in the flow of time, and then stopping it or making it run backwards, that is, physicists have designed a time machine for the photon!

For the first time, scientists have destroyed the unified fabric of space-time, and this is the truth. Surprisingly, they did it with the help of an experiment, the idea of ​​\u200b\u200bwhich appeared in 1803. Of course, technologies cannot be compared, but the idea is the same.

Now what do we do with this destroyed tissue? There are quick fallout. The lightning-fast hole removal method will be used in quantum computers. And the speed of these machines is really enormous, but here some kind of space opens up. We may finally be able to accurately predict the weather. While computers are not yet able to handle this task, because there is too much data, the machines are still slow.

A little later, science will try to turn back time or stop it not for photons, but for us. And in 2019, Russian scientists from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology did the same thing in a different way, forcing a quantum computer to create a system that lives in "reverse order", that is, from death to birth. Facts indicate that science is approaching the creation of a time machine from different angles, but its creation will certainly take place in the future.

So do you want to fly into the past and see yourself as a child in kindergarten? This desire is understandable, but the rewards may be unexpected. Since space and time are closely linked, traveling at lightning speed to a place, eternal life and solving all the world's problems such as hunger and disease will become a reality, since a person who lives outside of time and space cannot To be called a person.
