After this order of the High Court, all the tribal groups came out in protest. He said that the Meitei community should not be given ST status. People of Kuki and Naga tribes started this protest and many other tribes supported them in this. What is the Meitei community?
According to the report of the Indian Express, the maximum population in Manipur belongs to the Meitei community. About 64.6 of the state's population is from the Meitei community. Why the opposition to the Meitei community?

He says that the Meitei community gets all those facilities, which are not available to the people living in the hilly areas. The Meitei community is also accused of infiltrating the hilly areas.
