Jakarta - After a tense and surprising week at the Catalunya MotoGP, now the international motorbike racing event is ready to return to Italy through the San Marino GP which will be held at the Misano Circuit, this weekend.
This is the 29th time that Misano has hosted a Grand Prix. The first Grand Prix at Misano took place in 1980. Misano hosted 10 GPs between 1980 and 1993 before a 13-year hiatus following Wayne Rainey's accident in 1993. When
Grand Prix racing returned to Misano in 2007, it was held on a circuit along 4.18 km which has been heavily revised.
A total of three Italian riders finished in the top five at Misano in 2017 and all three racers rode Ducatis. This is the first time that three Italian riders riding Italian motorcycles have finished in the top five in the premier class since Imola 1972.
However, the most successful rider at Misano since 2007 has been Marc Marquez with a total of seven wins. He won once in the 125cc class, twice in the Moto2 class and four wins in the MotoGP class. Jorge Lorenzo is his closest rival with four wins, once each in the 250cc class and three times in MotoGP.

Ducati is currently undergoing 37 consecutive GP races with at least one rider rising podium. If they manage to finish on the podium again at Misano then they will extend their record to 38.
Also, if at least one Ducati rider makes it into the top three it will be the 52nd race in a row since Valencia 2020 that Ducati have started from grid front.
Another interesting thing, if Marc Marquez wins the race at Misano, it will mark 686 days since his last victory at the 2021 Emilia-Romagna GP. In addition, if he finishes on the podium at the San Marino GP later, then he will surpass MotoGP legend Angel Nieto's record to a position fifth on the list of racers with the most GP podiums.
World Superbike : French WSBK statistics at Magny-Cours
Jakarta - After the summer break, the World Superbike (WSBK) motorbike racing event is starting the second half of the 2023 season at WSBK France which will be held at the Nevers Magny-Cours Circuit, this weekend.
The Magny-Cours circuit debuted on the WSBK calendar in 1991 for one year, but its presence has only been consistent since 2003. Famous French riders such as Regis Laconi and Raymond Roche have participated in WSBK and Roche secured the title in 1990. The track has encapsulated historic moments
since starts, including when Max Biaggi secured his second title by just half a point ahead of Tom Sykes and when Sylvain Guintoli took France's first WSBK win at Magny-Cours in 2012.
One of the drivers this season, Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing), is the most successful racer at Magny-Cours. He recorded nine wins at the circuit, while Toprak Razgatlioglu (Pata Yamaha Prometeon) collected six wins in France.

This season's current standings leader, Alvaro Bautista, is now just two wins away from equaling Troy Bayliss' record of 52 all-time wins.
Behind Bautista in the standings is Razgatlioglu with 353 points, 74 points behind him. With a successful track record at Magny-Cours, including two wins, the Turkish rider is poised to return to victory and narrow the points gap.
Next is Rea, who is considered always consistent, holding 251 points. The six-time world champion remains a formidable competitor, with nine wins at Magny-Cours the most of any racer.
Andrea Locatelli (Pata Yamaha Prometeon) is standing strong with 227 points, trying to increase his number of podiums. Meanwhile, Axel Bassani (Motocorsa Racing) and Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Aruba.It Ducati) defended their positions and were determined to surprise.
Russia : A truck runs over a team of cyclists
A truck crashed into a team of cyclists on the highway in Russia's Leningrad region Thursday morning, killing two teenagers.
The truck deviated from its lane and collided with a car passing on the highway before running over a column of cyclists belonging to an Olympic school, consisting of eleven teenagers aged 14-15 years and one coach.
The accident resulted in the death of two and the injury of nine students, and the police opened an investigation into the causes of the accident.
