Gulf Cooperation Council: We hold Israel legally responsible for violations and attacks in Gaza

During the 159th Ministerial Council meeting on Sunday, the Gulf Cooperation Council affirmed its condemnation of the “Israeli aggression against Gaza,” demanding an immediate ceasefire, in addition to affirming its support for Palestine.

The meeting's final statement stressed that "the international community must deal with the Palestinian issue without duplicity, categorically rejecting any Israeli measures to displace the residents of Gaza, and also the necessity of ensuring that aid reaches the Strip as quickly as possible."

The Ministerial Council called on the international community to take the necessary measures to respond to the practices of the Israeli government and its policy of collective punishment against civilians.

The statement stressed "the need to take urgent steps to allow the immediate, safe and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, and to create the necessary conditions for a sustainable ceasefire in Gaza."

The attendees held "Israel legally responsible before the international community for its ongoing violations and attacks on innocent civilians, which resulted in the killing of thousands in the Gaza Strip."

The war in Gaza has  entered its 149th day,  as bombardment continues on several areas of the Strip amid a famine that has become a reality. Israeli military operations on the besieged Strip have left  more than 30,000 dead and more than 70,000 wounded, most of them  women and children, while international mediators race against time.
