The Israeli occupation committed 9 massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, killing 92 martyrs and 130 injuries during the past 24 hours. This comes at a time of famine, with one in three children under the age of two in northern Gaza suffering from acute malnutrition, according to UNRWA.

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Sunday that the toll of the Israeli war on the Strip has risen to 31,645 martyrs, and 73,676 injuries since October 7.

She explained that "the Israeli occupation is committing 9 massacres against families in the Gaza Strip (areas were not specified), of which 92 martyrs arrived at hospitals, and 130 injuries during the past 24 hours." "A number of victims are still under rubble and on the roads, and ambulance and civil defence crews cannot reach them," it said.

On Sunday, Israeli warplanes and artillery targeted several areas south and northeast of Khan Yunis and north of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.

Local sources told the Palestinian news agency Wafa that the Israeli raids targeted the southern areas of Khan Yunis, coinciding with artillery shelling and shooting from the occupation vehicles northeast of the city. It added that the occupation warplanes launched a raid northeast of Rafah.

Israeli warplanes also bombed a house in Al-Mansoura Street in Al-Shujaiya neighborhood in Gaza City, and areas west of Gaza City. Twelve civilians were killed, most of them children and women, and dozens were injured as a result of the Israeli warplanes bombing a house belonging to the Thabet family in the Bishara neighborhood in the center of Deir al-Balah city in the central Gaza Strip.

Battles continue

Battles continue between the occupation army and the Palestinian resistance in different areas of the Gaza Strip. The Al-Quds Brigades (the military wing of Islamic Jihad) reported that it shot down an Israeli infantry drone while carrying out an intelligence mission east of Gaza City.

The Israeli occupation army also announced on Sunday morning that one of its soldiers was wounded in a battle in the central Gaza Strip, bringing the number of wounded since the beginning of the war to 3,079.

The army said in a statement published on its account on platform X: "Yesterday (Friday), a soldier from the 601st Battalion was seriously wounded during a battle in the central Gaza Strip."

One in 3 children under two years is acutely malnourished

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) says one in three children under the age of two in northern Gaza is now severely malnourished, and famine is looming.

UNRWA added in a statement posted on social media: "Child malnutrition is spreading rapidly and reaching unprecedented levels in Gaza."

Hospitals in Gaza reported that some children were dying from malnutrition and dehydration.

The International Food Insecurity Monitoring Agency (IPC) is expected to report soon on the extent of Gaza's hunger crisis, after saying in December that the risk of famine exists over a forecast period until May.

World Central Kitchen said the first shipment to arrive in Gaza from the charity, which led the delivery of aid from a new sea route through Cyprus, arrived on Thursday and was unloaded.

Despite the entry Ramadan its seventh day, Israel continues its destructive war on the Gaza Strip, causing an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, massive destruction of infrastructure and property, and the displacement of about two million Palestinians out of about 2.3 million in Gaza, according to Palestinian and UN data.

The war also caused famine in some areas of the Strip, especially in the north, due to severe shortages of food, water, medicine and fuel supplies in the enclave, which Israel has blockaded for 17 years.
