In March, the military council took action against nine foreign exchange companies

In March 2024, the Military Council announced that it had taken action, including canceling the licenses of nine companies that had obtained foreign exchange licenses.

The Central Bank announced on March 14 that the business licenses of three companies were revoked because they did not comply with the Central Bank's announcements.

In addition, on March 12 and 13, the Central Bank announced that Sweet Yadanar Company and Ngwe Myinn Phyu Company's license to buy and sell foreign currency was suspended for six months.

On March 6th and 8th, the gold and currency markets were monitored and maintained. Led by the Vigilance Committee, the Central Bank and the Yangon City Municipal Committee investigated foreign currency buying and selling and exchange activities.

In such an investigation, Thura Nay Tun (Fame Money Changer), Lead Star Money Changer, It was announced on March 11 that four companies, including Steber Group Money Changer and Asia Shwe Thee, had their foreign exchange licenses suspended for three months due to violations of regulations and instructions.

Last September 19, 2023, the Central Bank of Myanmar, under the Military Council, revoked the licenses of 123 foreign exchange licensed companies.
