The Prime Minister of Pakistan will be elected today

After the general elections in Pakistan 2024, the election of the next Leader of the House in the National Assembly will be held today, in which PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Umar Ayub Khan are contesting.

In the National Assembly, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf-backed Sunni Etihad Council has 92 members while Muslim League-N has 75 seats.

Pakistan Peoples Party has won 54 seats. MQM Pakistan has won 17 seats while these parties have increased their number of seats after getting specific seats.

The Sunni Ittehad Council has not yet decided whether to get specific seats or not.

Member of Parliament of Muslim League-N Shehbaz Sharif will get the support of many other parties including Pakistan Muslim League-N, Pakistan People's Party, MQM-Pakistan, Pakistan Muslim League, Stability Pakistan, Balochistan Awami Party.

While Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Umar Ayub Khan will get the support of the members of the Sunni Ittehad Council.

The National Assembly Secretariat released the schedule for the election of the Prime Minister on Thursday.

The schedule issued by the Secretariat said that the nomination papers for the election of the Prime Minister will be received by 2 pm on March 2, after which the papers will be scrutinized by 3 pm on the same day.

Yesterday, the nomination papers of Pakistan Muslim League-N President Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNA Omar Ayub Khan were submitted.

The presence of the proposal and endorsers was made mandatory during the scrutiny of nomination papers.

Submission of nomination papers for the election of President of Pakistan

Asif Ali Zardari and Mahmood Achakzai from the opposition have submitted their nomination papers for the election of the President of the country after the 2024 general elections in Pakistan.

According to a statement released on Pakistan People's Party X, Farooq H. Naik submitted the papers of former President Asif Zardari to the presiding officer in the Islamabad High Court.

 While Syed Murad Ali Shah, Qaim Ali Shah, Agha Siraj Durrani and Sharjeel Memon submitted the nomination papers of Asif Ali Zardari in the Sindh High Court.

Asif Zardari will be the presidential candidate on behalf of Muslim League-N and Pakistan People's Party.

According to Sunni Etihad Council leader Asad Qaiser's X post, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Sunni Etihad Council submitted the nomination papers of Mehmood Khan Achakzai for the presidential election, which was submitted by PTI leader Latif Khosa in the Islamabad High Court.
