Israeli official: The army's initial investigation concluded that it was responsible for the attack on the relief team in Gaza

An Israeli military official told the New York Times on Tuesday that the Israeli army's investigations concluded that Tel Aviv was responsible for the attack on the World Central Kitchen team's car in Gaza.

The official said on condition of anonymity that Israeli Defense Forces Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy is expected to review the preliminary investigation results into the incident on Tuesday evening.

The Israeli army previously said that it was conducting a comprehensive review at the highest levels to determine the circumstances of this incident, which it described as “tragic.” The statement said, “The IDF is making great efforts to enable the safe delivery of humanitarian aid, and is working closely with World Central Kitchen.” "World Central Bank" in its tireless efforts to provide food and humanitarian aid to the residents of Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged that the Israeli army "accidentally" killed 7 aid workers in an air strike on the Gaza Strip.

Earlier today, Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said that he “spoke to the organization’s founder, Jose Andres, and expressed to him the IDF’s condolences to the families of the deceased and the entire World Central Kitchen family.” He pointed out  that “the task of investigating the incident will be assigned to To  the Israeli Army Fact-Finding and Evaluation Unit.

The organization confirmed earlier today: “7 of our employees were killed in an Israeli strike on the Gaza Strip , while our team was leaving a warehouse in Deir al-Balah, despite coordination with the Israeli army.”

According to the organization, the dead were from "Australia, Poland, the United Kingdom, and dual citizens from the United States, Canada, and Palestine."

The seven victims work for the US-based World Central Kitchen organization, which works to deliver food aid to the war-torn sector by sea from Cyprus.

During a press conference in Paris on Tuesday, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken called for a “quick and impartial” investigation into the killing of seven aid workers in an Israeli strike on Gaza at dawn today.
