Informed Israeli sources reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is “unnaturally nervous” about the possibility of an arrest warrant being issued against him by the International Criminal Court.

Informed Israeli sources said on Saturday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is “unnaturally nervous” about the possibility of an arrest warrant being issued against him by the International Criminal Court.

The Hebrew newspaper Maariv quoted unnamed informed sources as saying that Netanyahu is “unnaturally afraid and nervous” due to the possibility of an arrest warrant being issued by the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

The newspaper indicated that, during the past few days, Netanyahu made an extensive number of phone calls with international leaders and officials in an attempt to pressure to prevent the issuance of an arrest warrant against him, especially with US President Joe Biden.

The sources indicated that Netanyahu is indirectly trying to pressure President Biden to take action against the issuance of the memorandum.

The sources confirmed that "Netanyahu realizes that the international arrest warrant could make him a persecuted person, so he invests in efforts to thwart it on a daily basis."

The sources do not rule out the possibility that the great flexibility in the Israeli position regarding the issue of the prisoner exchange deal, including the agreement to end the war, is part of this event.

On Friday, Netanyahu downplayed the usefulness of any arrest warrants that the International Criminal Court might issue against him, or against any of his government officials, saying that “the International Criminal Court’s decisions will not affect Israel’s actions.”

On Wednesday, Hebrew media circulated reports indicating the possibility of the International Criminal Court issuing international arrest warrants against Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and Army Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy, against the backdrop of Israeli practices during the war on the Gaza Strip.

On April 19, Israeli Channel 12 (exclusively) said that the International Criminal Court was considering issuing international arrest warrants soon against Netanyahu and other senior Israeli officials, against the backdrop of committing “war crimes” against the Palestinians in Gaza.

The ongoing Israeli war on Gaza since October 7 has left more than 112,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and massive destruction and famine that have claimed the lives of children and the elderly, according to Palestinian and UN data.

Israel continues this war despite the issuance of an immediate ceasefire resolution by the UN Security Council, and also despite the International Court of Justice demanding that it take immediate measures to prevent acts of “genocide” and improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
