Trump reveals his plan for abortion rights if he wins the presidential election

Former US President Donald Trump said that he would not sign a law banning abortion in the country if he wins the elections, just two days after he pledged to leave this decision to the states.
Trump made the statement to reporters on the tarmac in Georgia, shaking his head and saying “no” when asked if he would sign a bill as president that would impose a national ban.

The former president's comments come two days after he clarified one of his strict positions on abortion in a video on the Truth Social platform, saying he believes states, not the federal government, should decide whether or not to restrict abortion.

After generating speculation for months about his stance on abortion, Trump received pushback from some lawmakers on the right, who argued that the former president sidestepped the issue by saying it should be left to the states.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said that he "respectfully disagrees" with Trump after he drafted a bill banning abortion after the 15th week of pregnancy .

Former Vice President Mike Pence criticized Trump's position on abortion , calling it "a slap in the face to the millions of pro-life Americans who voted for him."
