A British MP calls on the government not to participate in Israel's crimes in Gaza

Zara Sultana, a representative of the opposition Labor Party in the British Parliament, called on her country’s government to put pressure on Israel to ensure an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, and to stop arms sales that make the British government an “accomplice in crimes.”

Sultana said in statements today, Thursday, regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza in light of the Israeli attacks: “There must be an immediate ceasefire, the release of prisoners, and allowing humanitarian aid to enter Gaza.”

She stressed the need to stop arms sales that make the British government an “accomplice in crimes” in Gaza.

She added: "Our government needs to use all necessary diplomatic tools to ensure a ceasefire and the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza."

She added: "Famine has already begun in Gaza, which is very worrying."

As a result of the war and Israeli restrictions, the residents of Gaza, especially in the Gaza and northern governorates, are suffering from “famine,” in light of the severe scarcity imposed by Israel on food, water, medicine, and fuel supplies.

The Israeli war on Gaza, which began on October 7, left tens of thousands of Palestinians martyred and wounded, most of them children and women, and about 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly.

Israel continues the war despite the issuance of a resolution by the UN Security Council to stop the fighting immediately, and also despite the International Court of Justice demanding immediate measures to prevent acts of “genocide” and improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
