A UN official warned that the people of Gaza are bearing the consequences of the Israeli war on the Strip, noting that there are not enough supplies and fuel to provide any reasonable level of support to the Palestinians.

A senior official in the United Nations relief efforts, Edem and Surno, told the Security Council on Monday that food and medicine for Palestinians in Gaza are accumulating in Egypt in light of the continued closure of the Rafah crossing.

She and Surno added that an organization's warehouse had not received aid for two days from a pier established by the United States on the Gaza coast.

She added: "We no longer have words to describe what is happening in Gaza. We described it as a disaster, a nightmare, and hell on earth. It is all of this, and even worse."

Wesorno confirmed that the closure of the Rafah crossing halted the delivery of at least 82,000 metric tons of supplies, while access to the Israeli Kerem Shalom crossing was limited due to “hostilities, difficult logistical conditions, and complex coordination procedures,” as she described it.

The Israeli war on Gaza, which has been ongoing since October 7, left more than 114,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and about 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly.

Israel continues the war on Gaza despite the issuance of a resolution by the UN Security Council to stop the fighting immediately, and despite the International Court of Justice demanding that it take immediate measures to prevent acts of “genocide” and improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Palestinian-American discussions about stopping the war in Gaza and facilitating the entry of aid
Yesterday, Monday, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Hussein Al-Sheikh, discussed with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan the situation in Gaza and the need to immediately stop the war on the Strip and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid.

He added that the meeting also focused on "stopping Israeli measures in the West Bank, including settlements, attacks, incursions, and confiscation of the Authority's funds, and that there is no alternative to a comprehensive political solution that ends the occupation and leads to the establishment of a Palestinian state in accordance with international legitimacy."

Coming from Saudi Arabia, Sullivan arrived in Israel on Sunday, and met with officials, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The latter’s office said in a statement that he discussed with Sullivan “the continuation of the war in Gaza, especially in Rafah, and the provision of humanitarian aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip, communications to retrieve the kidnapped people, and the situation.” On the northern front.

Yesterday morning, Monday, Sullivan met with Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid, who has repeatedly called for the departure of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government and the holding of early elections.

Since May 6, the Israeli occupation army has launched a ground attack on Rafah, causing the displacement of 810,000 Palestinians, according to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) on Monday.

The Israeli war on Gaza since October 7 has left about 115,000 Palestinians martyred and wounded, most of them children and women, and about 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly.

Israel continues the war on Gaza despite the issuance of a resolution by the UN Security Council to stop the fighting immediately, and despite the International Court of Justice demanding that it take immediate measures to prevent acts of “genocide” and improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
