American official: The Israeli army shot down 40% of its drones by mistake

A US Navy military official revealed a major failure in the Israeli army's capabilities, which caused approximately 40% of its drones to be shot down by mistake.

Lieutenant Colonel Michael Broden, a US Marine Corps official, stated that at least 40% of the drones intercepted by Israeli army forces over Gaza are Israeli drones.

Michael Broden added that friendly fire brought down the marches as a result of the soldiers' failure to identify them.

Broden himself did not specify in which arena the Israeli army intercepted this large number of drones, but given the scope of friendly fire, it is very likely that the large share was in the Gaza Strip, according to what was reported by the Hebrew “Globus” website .

He cited this number as an example of the challenges the US Army's air defense system also faced in trying to distinguish between friendly and enemy aircraft.

The American official added, "When Israeli soldiers are in Gaza at the forefront and see a drone, what do they do if it is not discovered immediately? They will intercept it."

He stated that the interception process is virtual because the time frame in which the drone is detected and even hit sometimes reaches "seconds."

Broden said that these false interceptions are a problem that will increase as the number of drones roaming the sky increases.
